Guillen—together with the Regional Officials of NIA Cagayan Valley Region, is exerting its utmost efforts to comply with all legal procedures and finalize documentary requirements from regulatory bodies to ensure the station’s smooth and successful operation.
At the start of this month, the NIA Central Office Irrigation Engineering Center (IEC), through representatives: Quirino L. Agustin (Supervising Electronics Communication Technician) and Joanna Ross C. Regualos (Senior Draftsman), conducted a week-long assessment and test broadcast of the NIA FM Radio Station. The activity concluded with an Exit Conference held at the Office of the Regional Manager.
The activity was attended by the Regional Officials under the leadership of the Regional Manager Engr. Raymundo B. Apil, and Staff from the Engineering & Operations Division (EOD), Public Relations, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and workforce of the soon-to-be launched DWCJ 98.1 MHz FM.
Findings on the necessary improvements were presented to the group for consideration and action. The radio coverage included on-site assessments of irrigation systems in Cagayan Province: Baua River Irrigation System (BRIS) in Gonzaga, the Visitacion Irrigation System (VIS) in Santa Ana, and the East Apayao-Abulug Irrigation System (EAAIS) in Allacapan were discussed.
As the NIA moves closer to officially launching DWCJ 98.1 MHz FM, the agency reaffirms its commitment to empowering farmers through accessible information and inclusive communication. This milestone initiative not only amplifies the voices of Filipino farmers but also strengthens NIA’s mission to bring timely, relevant, and community-centered content across the airwaves—paving the way for a more informed and resilient agricultural sector.
