BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The National Irrigation Administration-Nueva Vizcaya Irrigation Management Office (NIA-NVIMO) successfully held the Turnover Ceremony for the Luyang Communal Irrigation System (CIS) on February 7, 2025 at the Luyang Barangay Hall. The project, under contract number INFRA-NCB-NVIMO-15-24, involves the Dredging of the Existing Impounding Dam, Construction of 4-inch thick CHB Canal Lining and the installation of appurtenant structures.
This project was successfully completed by Primebuilt Construction & Supply, as partner contractor for the said project. The Luyang CIS, funded under Repair CIS fund source, involved the construction of 0.311 kilometers of canal lining, along with the installation of three appurtenant structures. This project is expected to positively impact 41 farmer-beneficiaries from the Luyang area, providing them with improved irrigation facilities that will lead to better crop yields and increased agricultural productivity.
The event was attended by Barangay Officials, led by Hon. Oliver T. Geronimo; representatives from NIA-NVIMO; Irrigators' Association (IA) President, Mr. Paulino Caluya; along with farmer-beneficiaries and the contractor. As part of NIA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing irrigation systems, the successful completion of the Luyang CIS project highlights its dedication to providing sustainable support to Filipino farmers.
